PACKING LIST
Remember the axiom, "Pack light". I recommend a small carry-on bag and a medium suitcase or duffel with rolling wheels. Please do not plan on bringing something bigger than about 22 or 23 inches, as you will be walking quite a bit and going up and down stairs with your bags. Nobody else will be able or available to help you carry them but yourself! We also have a fixed amount of space on the bus for our luggage. Medium Organized Rolling Duffel
To compress your clothing so that it will fit in your medium rolling suitcase or duffel, you might want to consider purchasing compression bags .
During your trip, plan on going at least once to one of the many laundromats near our hotels.
Here is the suggested list of what to bring:
____3-5 changes of casual clothes and one nice outfit
The number depends on how often you plan to do laundry
•Pants
•Shirts/blouses
•One pair of shorts
•Underwear
•Pyjamas
•Socks
•Swim suit
____Comfortable walking shoes (two pairs)
____Laundry bag
____Book, deck of cards, games--for plane trip
____One sweater or fleece
____One light jacket,--rain proof or rain resistant
____Toiletries--don't count on the hotel having soap and shampoo
Metal nail files, tweezers, razors, clippers, and all liquids should be packed in checked luggage and not in carry on. Make sure to pack and liquids in tightly sealed containers and inside Zip-Lock bags so that they don't spill on your clothes during the flight.
____Medications--Should be packed in carry on bag-- prescription drugs need to be in their original containers
____Sun glasses
____Lip gloss and sun screen
____Purse/Money belt
____Hairdryer--I recommend sharing one with one or two friends. 240 capability required and plug in adapter for French outlets
____Camera--Plug adapter needed and 240 capability required if a digital camera
____Film
____75-100 Euros--to get you started--you may purchase these at the airport just before we board
____ATM check card/credit card--with STAR/CIRRUS/PLUS/INTERLINK/ETC. logos on back--or travelers cheques
____Passport--be ready to give this to me when we board the bus in Ukiah
____Student ID
____Addresses
____Travel guides/maps
____French dictionaries/phrase books
____Snacks for trip down to SFO
