Role Summary/Purpose
GE Homeland Protection provides reliable and efficient products and services globally, which detect explosives and narcotics. The Senior Accountant must possess the vision and energy to ensure controllership and compliance whilst managing within the strategic business imperatives. In this role you will integrate and develop processes and systems that meet business needs across the organization and solve complex issues in finance.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Manage business unit controllership by working closely with financial and operational leadership to pro-actively assess and manage financial risk while helping driving consistent and effective policies and procedures around all aspects of accounting
  • Research, advise and guide / manage business unit on complex technical accounting issues resulting from key transactions, changes in accounting guidance or new business developments
  • Coordinate and execute on Core accounting and reporting, including account reconciliations and month-end close activities
  • Manage all non-operational liability related areas of the Balance Sheet
  • Provide Monthly Balance Sheet analytics
  • Lead Cash Management including cash reconciliations
  • Support International Affiliate on accounting and reporting and funding administration
  • Provide coaching and back-up assistance to other Finance team members, as needed.
  • Assist on Sarbanes-Oxley compliance work

    Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor’s of Science degree in accounting / finance OR high school diploma/GED and a minimum of 8 years industry experience
  • Minimum 5 years experience with financial accounting ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
  • Proficient with MS Excel
