Use two on-line sites to solve these Metro Problems. The first (Paris Map) can be found at the RATP site here.
The second site is from Wikipedia and has all kind of photos, information, and links about the Paris Metro and RER lines, how to use them, what are the lines, etc. You will find that site here.
PROBLEM #1
You are at the Arc de Triomphe, which is located on the Place de l'Étoile/Charles de Gaulle--the upper left-hand side of the interactive Metro map, not far from the Bois de Boulogne and the Red RER line. You want to go back to our hotel, which is located at 43 rue des Écoles in the 5th arrondissement. You'll get off the Metro system at the St. Michel Station, which is just below the Seine river in the center of the map right next to the blue RER line. How do you get there on the Metro?
Fill in the blanks---Walk down the stairs at the Metro Station ______________________ (name of station) located on the Champs Élysées right near the Place Charles de Gaulle--look on the metro map. Put your Carte Orange Metro ticket in the lower part of the turnstile, then take it back when it pops to the top of the turnstile. The turnstile barriers will open automatically, allowing you to pass through and enter the station. Immediately look for signs that say “_________________________-________________________” (the two end stations of the line that you are taking), also known of as line #_________. Keep following the signs that tell you to go to that line. When it reaches a division (that is, in order to decide which platform to stand on for the line you are taking), take direction _________________________(end station of the line in the direction you are going along that line). Board the Metro train when it arrives in the station, making sure that you are on the right platform (the direction you are going will uasually be indicated right above you while you are waiting for the train). When the metro train arrives at _______________________station, get off of the train. Follow the sign for "Correspondences" that indicates "___________________________-_____________________", or line # ______________. Continue to follow the signs for that line, until you once again reach a division, choosing "Direction _____________________________". Get off the train at the St. Michel station and walk 5-10 minutes to our hotel.
PROBLEM #2
You are at our hotel, and you want to go to the Eiffel Tower, which is located near the Bir Hakeim station --the left-hand side of the interactive Metro map, just below the Seine river. You'll get off the Metro system at theBir Hakeim Station. How do you get there on the Metro?
Fill in the blanks---Walk to the Metro Station called Cluny La Sorbonne nearest our hotel--located in the center of the map just south of the Seine and the Île de la Cité. Put your Carte Orange Metro ticket in the lower part of the turnstile once you go downstairs, then take it back when it pops to the top of the turnstile. Get off the train at the Bir Hakeim station and walk 5-10 minutes to La Tour Eiffel.
